There is a specific way to install that adapter, so I wonder if you have it switched because one hole is bigger than the other hole on that part, so reversing it could cause the issue it sounds like you are hitting. Technically any of the fifth wheel trailer to gooseneck adapters that attach to the trailers pin box will void the warranty of the trailer. The only similar option that won't is the Reese Goose Box which is a pin box style replacement adapter. I would need to know what trailer you have to pick that out. If your Curt X5 Fifth Wheel Adapter # 16310 was left in a hitch for an extended period of time is very possible that it seized up in the hitch. You would just need to apply liberal amounts of penetrating oil like WD40 around the shank of the adapter. Applying some and then allowing it to soak for a while would be your best option.

It sounds like there is an issue with the fitment of the Side Plates # DM49GV in the bed mounts on your 2020 GMC Sierra 2500. The cams may have loosened on the arm which would cause play between the bed mounts and the hitch adapters. Your Yakima FullTilt features a SpeedKnob that tightens the rack inside your hitch to reduce noise and movement. Based on your photo, it looks like the anti rattle device on the adapter is slightly expanded, preventing it from going into your 2 inch hitch receiver.

Have you measured to make sure the Ranch Hitch Universal 5th-Wheel-to-Gooseneck Coupler Adapter # AM3139 works with the hitch ball in your 2016 Nissan Titan XD? If not, what you need to do is line up your fifth wheel and Titan on level ground and measure from the bottom of the pin box to the top of the gooseneck ball. That measurement needs top be between 11-3/4" and 14-3/4" for the adapter to work with your truck.

I spoke with my contact over at Demco about adapter # DM6194 for the 2018 GMC Sierra 2500. He said that without a hitch on the adapter you can pull up on adapter and it will move slightly. This is due to the slight play between the channel in the gooseneck hitch ball hole and the ball bearings in the adapter's shank. But he said at most you should only see maybe 1/8 to 1/4 inch of vertical movement.

We have not received any reports of the Rapid Hitch Universal Fifth-Wheel-to-Gooseneck Coupler Adapter, # AM3100, not releasing from a gooseneck hitch, but the cable release system for the pin that secures the adapter to the hitch ball is a pretty simple set up and should be easy to troubleshoot.

The Demco 5th Wheel Rail Adapter for Nissan Titan XD OEM 5th Wheel Towing Prep Package # DM6200 have 4 wear pads that are 1/2 inch thick and 8 thinner shims that are 1/4 inch each. I reached out to my contact at Demco and he said you may need to add or remove shims to get a tighter fit. The number of shims does not need to be equal but you should have a snug fit to the bed of your truck.

You are correct that there is a conflict in using any gooseneck adapter with a Revolution or Sidewinder style pin box. The rotating turret being further back creates too much movement and torque for the gooseneck hitch. You can simply lock your Revolution pin box by using conical washers and torqueing the 3/4 inch bolts to 210 foot lbs and removing the wedge.
